Meet Lucas, first Gerber baby with Down syndrome

What makes it so incredibly special is that Lucas is the first baby in the history of the contest who has Down Syndrome.

There's a sweet new face being added to the Gerber family and the results from the 8 annual Gerber baby photo search are making national headlines. As the Grand Prize victor, Lucas family will receive $50,000, he will be given the coveted title of 2018 Gerber Spokesbaby and take a front seat on Gerbers social media channels throughout the year.

He is also making history as the first victor of the Gerber Baby Photo Search to have Down syndrome.

With his contagious smile and adorable bowtie, Lucas was chosen out of 140,000 entries to be this year's Gerber spokesbaby. Cortney Warren said she entered the contest on a whim, after a relative pointed out an ad seeking submissions. The proud dad is a helicopter fix person and served in Georgia's National Guard for six years, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

As the Grand Prize victor, Lucas's family will receive $50,000, and Lucas will be given the coveted title of 2018 Gerber Spokesbaby.
