Amazon Debuts Sumerian To Help Developers Make VR, AR, 3D Apps

Amazon jumps into virtual reality with Sumerian for building VR apps in the cloud

Amazon announced a new service at the AWS re:Invent Midnight Madness event. In any case, users of the toolkit can create animated characters that interact with the player or customer verbally. Amazon Sumerian will be available for preview starting today, and works on all browsers supporting WebGL or WebVR graphics rendering such as Daydream, HTC Vive, iOS mobile devices and Oculus Rift.

Sumerian is designed to be straightforward enough for developers who are new to building 3D experiences, while retaining the power needed to create engaging content.

The win set a new club record of 11 consecutive league wins and Guardiola reckons his men showed the sort of spirit needed to be crowned champions next May.

John Wall Set to Miss Time With Injury
Frazier has shown his ability to rack up assists when starting for Wizards this season with eight assists in his two starts. Wall is scheduled to receive platelet-rich plasma and viscosupplementation injections to reduce the inflammation.

Leon Goretzka Set to Snub Arsenal for Barcelona
The 22-year-old star is now out with an injury and this season, he has scored 4 goals in 9 league games so far. Arsene Wenger faces losing his star duo in 2018 with their contracts running down at the Emirates.

On Monday, Amazon launched the service, Amazon Sumerian, to ease the development of augmented reality and virtual reality apps for different platforms. As such, Sumerian could help democratize AR and VR app creation for more professionals without a 3D graphics background, the post said. It also allows anyone to import objects from third-party asset repositories such as Sketchfab or Turbosquid, or create and import their own objects. Amazon plans to make its tools compatible with Google's (goog) AR software tools for Android-powered devices soon, but it didn't say when. The Sumerian service includes an object library with 3D models along with assistance for importing assets from FBX and OBJ files. The library is fully integrated with Google's Tilt Brush and Blocks apps, letting you modify numerous objects to better fit your project.

Amazon is jumping onto the augmented and virtual reality bandwagon with the launch of Sumerian, a new application that's supposed to make it easier for people to develop 3D experiences for a wide variety of platforms. If you find what you're looking for, you can view it in 3D and download it to use in your app. The app developer does not need advance coding skills to use Sumerian as the service includes the drag and drop interface along with a visual scripting tool to design the logic that would determine the behavior and response of objects and characters in the scene, notes Road To VR. "But customers are daunted and overwhelmed by the up-front investment in specialized skills and tools required to even get started building a VR or AR application". "For instance, we integrated Mapbox's points of interest and global terrain maps with Amazon Sumerian so data is delivered and rendered in real-time".
