Selena Gomez's BFF Francia Raisa Reveals Why She Decided to Give Her a Kidney

Gomez opened up about her series of health issues ahead of the surgery steaming from her Lupus diagnosis and Raisa said seeing her roommate and dear friend in unbearable pain was hard to watch.

Raisa then added: 'I constantly needed to ask for help. "And in the middle of that process I started hyperventilating and felt so much pain", she said. And I said, 'What's wrong?' and that's when she told me.

'I'm thankful there are people that know what to do in that situation'. The list is seven to ten years long.' And it just vomited out of me.

Francia described the day she found out just how sick Selena really was.

Even though Gomez managed to keep her operation under wraps until she was ready to share it herself in September, it sounds like the issues that led to the transplant had been happening for some time.

Selena Gomez has opened up about her kidney transplant in an emotional interview on the Today show, which aired on Monday, October 30.

'And she goes, "I don't know what to do".

"My teeth were like grinding, I was freaking out". Gomez's kidney apparently flipped inside her body, causing vast pain and an additional surgery. "I knew she hadn't been feeling well", the Grown-ish actress said.

"You're on bed rest, you're allowed to walk an hour a day", Gomez said".

"She lived with me in this interesting time where my kidneys were just done", Gomez said.

Gomez, who has since returned to work and is now shooting the new Woody Allen film, also revealed that she did not want to ask "a single person" for an organ when she discovered she needed the transplant. In a short teaser, we saw the Wolves artist explain how her BFF/kidney donor actually saved her life amid her Lupus battle.

Over the summer, Selena Gomez underwent a life-saving kidney transplant as a part of treatment for her Lupus diagnosis.

The former Disney Channel star revealed that she had been diagnosed with Lupus in 2015.

Raisa agreed to donate her organ on the spot. "I think one of the more humbling experiences was needing help to put on underwear". They also couldn't dress themselves or take a shower. "Usually, the process takes like six months, so it was really fast". "My lupus, there's about a 3 to 5 percent chance it'll ever come back".

Gomez added with a laugh, "Well, you did a little peace sign, and then you went out". I don't think what we went through is easy.
