Natural History Museum

Eleven people were injured after the auto mounted the kerb outside the museum in South Kensington, central London, on Saturday.

A spokesman for the London police force later said that counter-terrorism officers were assessing the incident but had not yet reached a conclusion, but police are keeping an open mind as to whether it is terrorism-related.

London's Metropolitan Police said they were called to the scene at 2:21 pm (1321 GMT) after reports of a collision.

Footage and photographs posted on Twitter showed the detained man next to a black auto with its door open and its bonnet severely damaged.

Metropolitan Police said a man had been detained at the scene and they were investigating a motive. "Enquiries to establish the circumstances are underway", the statement said.

Massive crowds of families with young children were seen evacuating museums along Exhibition Road following the incident, as authorities cordoned off the area.

'Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Puigdemont detached from reality: Spanish deputy PM
Madrid has the power to suspend the semi-autonomous status that Catalonia now enjoys under Spain's system of regional governments. The court said that by allowing the parliament to meet and declare independence would "violate the rights of the party's MPs".

Britons in general, and Londoners in particular, have been jumpy after a string of extremist attacks this year, including deadly attacks using vehicles to hit pedestrians on Westminster Bridge and London Bridge.

"We would ask anybody who saw what happened, or who have any pictures or moving footage that could help us gain a greater understanding of what happened, to get in touch with us", the police said in Sunday's statement.

The incident caused concern due to a recent string of terror attacks involving vehicle collisions by Islamic State (ISIS) linked terrorists across Europe.

Police say the collision is not terror related.

Britain's security level for terrorism is in the "severe" category, the second highest, meaning an attack is considered to be highly likely.

He said none of the head and leg injuries turned out to be serious and that most of the nine people who had been hospitalized have been discharged.

British Prime Minister Theresa May was being updated on the incident, according to her office.
