PRESIDENTS CUP: US has one hand on the trophy

US pummel Internationals in march toward Presidents Cup

United States 3½, global 1½.

Starting the day with a 3.5-1.5 advantage, the United States won four out of five fourballs in New Jersey on Friday.

With the U.S. team already having a big lead, only a massive turnaround by the Internationals in the eight matches yesterday will leave any suspense heading into today's 12 singles at Liberty National.

Price will hope a big performance from Day and Leishman in the top match can spark something from those players following on later in the session and in the afternoon.

Jason Day and Marc Leishman, International, halved with Kevin Kisner and Phil Mickelson, United States. But when you come out to a Presidents Cup or a Ryder Cup, or like at an Olympics like I've played, you're playing for so much more. Leishman received a free drop for his next shot, but the foul ball seemed to energize the USA, which promptly birdied back-to-back holes to grab control.

The Internationals troubled the scoreboard when Matsuyama and Adam Hadwin secured a half point by squaring their match with the powerful Reed/Spieth combination, but that's where it ended for the International side who will return to their Manhattan hotel in a state of shock, their tails wedged firmly between their legs and with the sound of overjoyed American crowds ringing in their ears.

The power team of Koepka and Johnson took a little longer to find their stride, dropping two holes early but making the turn all square with Adam Scott and Jhonattan Vegas.

Delta to offer free in-flight messaging on all flights
But the service is only available for text use and does not support sending photo or video files, according to a Delta statement. Specifically, Delta's partnership with Gogo, a popular in-flight Internet service, will be making this a reality.

So can his teammates, who have followed the script set out by US captain Steve Stricker to win every session. It would render Sunday's 12 singles matches moot and maybe get the PGA Tour out of the sticky predicament of hosting President Donald Trump, who is reported to be attending Sunday's matches (the Marine One choppers running practice landings at this Jersey harbor venue late on Friday would seem to be a strong indication that the Pres will be coming).

Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler defeated Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace, giving the South Africans their first loss in six matches.

If for no other reason, the last match on Saturday morning will be interesting to see if Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler can remain undefeated.

Entering Friday, Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace were flawless at the Presidents Cup. The International Team is made up of players not from Europe.

In three matches so far at Liberty National, Spieth and Reed are 2-0-1, and they're a lipout on No. 18 on Friday away from going 3-0-0. The International team rallied with wins on the 10th and 13th, but Kuchar's 20-foot birdie putt provided the needed margin for victory.

This had the trappings of the closest match of the day, with each team winning two holes on the front nine and the match all square going to the back.

On the 14th hole, Thomas chipped in from a greenside bunker for birdie to maintain his team's 2-up lead.
