Harry Kane nets two more goals Spurs beat Huddersfield 4-0

Cheikhou Kouyate of West Ham United puts pressure on Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur at London Stadium

Tottenham forward Harry Kane has equaled Cristiano Ronaldo's Premier League goalscoring total, reaching the mark at a much quicker rate than the Real Madrid star.

Kane was interviewed life on Sky Sports after the match and asked if he had ever felt better. Moussa Sissoko added a late fourth.

The 24-year-old has now scored 13 goals in eight games for club and country since the start of September - having once again failed to notch in the month of August.

Huddersfield, facing their toughest test since promotion via the playoffs in May, had boasted the Premier League's second best defensive record this season - but Mauricio Pochettino's side demonstrated the gulf in class.

They were more than a match for Spurs early on as Tommy Smith had one fine long-range effort palmed away by Hugo Lloris and Rajiv van la Parra also saw Eric Dier block another opportunity.

But Kane rejected any talk of the game being an easy one for Spurs, saying: "It wasn't straightforward, we got off to a great start, we wanted to come, score some early goals and control the game and that's exactly how it turned out".

Six minutes later the Londoners doubled their advantage. Spurs looked a threat every time they advanced with Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli's clever touches opening up space for Kane.

Chances were far fewer in the second period as Huddersfield laid out a tighter stall, but Spurs nearly added to their lead minutes after the restart when Eriksen's ball across the face of goal was inches away from picking out Kane in front of an empty net.

The strike was Kane's 13th in September alone and meant Spurs had scored three goals in three consecutive away performances.

After nine minutes, Huddersfield's Chris Lowe was caught napping at the back, the England striker raced through on goal and calmly slotted past Jonas Lossl to put Spurs ahead.

"It was a learning curve, I was young, I was away from home, the crowd got on the ref's back, and it was all part of a learning experience for me, but better memories this time".
