Fox News Suspends Eric Bolling Amid Lewd Photo Allegations

The claims were first reported by HuffPost, which cited a dozen sources.

The report said the messages were sent several years ago and on separate occasions. Fox News announced his suspension after news that he sent lewd photos to female colleagues emerged.

Roger Ailes, who resigned as chairman of Fox News following several accusations of harassment by female employees, which he denied.

Other harassment allegations have been leveled against Fox News' former star, Bill O'Reilly, who was sacked in April after several women reported being harassed by the host.

According to HuffPost, the women are Bolling's current and former Fox colleagues. Not long after, Bill O'Reilly was ousted in the wake of a New York Times report which revealed 21st Century Fox had paid out almost $13 million in in to settle sexual harassment claims against the longtime host.

A Fox News spokesperson confirmed Saturday that Bolling's suspension is "pending the results of an investigation, which is now underway".

Fox News said it opened an investigation after it learned about the allegations from the Huffington Post, according to The New York Times. He apologized the day after.

"It's something I've never seen and experienced - obviously, I'm a male", Bolling said at the time. Previously, he served as one of the hosts of "The Five" and as a fill-in host for O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

Mr Bolling has worked at the network for seven years.

Bolling has been one of President Trump's staunchest backers on television, and his career has benefited from it. During his tenure there, he's been known to be a vocal supporter of Trump.

A liberal commentator who made hundreds of appearances on Fox and Fox Business from 2008-11, Ms. Heldman referred to "multiple experiences with Bolling that caused grave concern to my friends and family".

In a lengthy post on her Facebook page, the professor detailed how the Fox News host harassed her.

The multiyear extension ended speculation that he was going to accept a position in the Trump administration.
